AI Working in
Production Today.

Not Theoretical. Not a Buzzword.

Solstice has been building AI into its engineering and operations since 2025 — not as a feature announcement, but as a deliberate, phased commitment. Here's where we've been, where we are, and where we're headed.

AI Working in
Production Today.

Not Theoretical. Not a Buzzword.

Solstice has been building AI into its engineering and operations since 2025 — not as a feature announcement, but as a deliberate, phased commitment. Here's where we've been, where we are, and where we're headed.

Our

AI Journey

Solstice's phased AI delivery roadmap showing the journey from early experimentation through current carrier-facing value to ambitious long-term vision, with all dates reflecting actual deployments and planned releases.
2025
Foundation - Shipped

Copilot-Assisted Code Review

GitHub Copilot integrated across teams — initial 20-25% speed improvement in feature delivery and 15% reduction in post-deploy defects.

QA / Regression Framework

Internal testing suite for AI workflows launched, allowing rapid evaluation of prompt changes and model performance degradation.

AI Standards Enforcement

First internal AI-use policy rolled out: human-in-the-loop for NAIC-reportable decisions; logging and explainability mandates established.
2026
In Production - Active

Client Onboarding Automation

AI-assisted client onboarding reducing time-to-value and delivering new efficiency through automated data mapping and configuration.

Enhanced Data Conversion

AI-powered data conversion tools accelerating policy migration with intelligent field mapping and validation.

AI-Enhanced Client Support

Carrier-facing support agents equipped with AI-augmented knowledge bases, cutting first-response times and improving CSAT.

SDLC Acceleration

AI embedded across the software development lifecycle — from code review to testing to deployment.

30% AI-Gen Code by YE 2026

Target: 30% of new code generated with AI assistance by year-end 2026, with human review on every commit.
2027+
Research Roadmap

Agent Orchestration Framework

Multi-agent system orchestrating underwriting, claims, and billing agents — each specialized, monitored, and human-supervised.

RAG-Based 'Solstice Brain'

Retrieval-augmented generation system enabling intelligent search and recommendations across carrier data and insurance domain knowledge.

Human-Agent Teaming Model

Advanced collaboration framework where AI agents and human operators work together on complex insurance workflows with clear handoff protocols.

In Production Today

What AI Delivers for Carriers Right Now

AI is already live throughout Equinox™ for Solstice carrier-clients. These aren't roadmap items — they're production capabilities delivering measurable value today. Each carries a human-review checkpoint before any output reaches a carrier or production system.
2026 - Live

Stand Up New Carriers Faster, With Fewer Manual Steps

AI automates configuration steps that previously required extensive manual setup — generating initial environment configuration from carrier artifacts and flagging exceptions for solutions architect review.
Before
Manual configuration requiring significant solutions architect time per carrier engagement
With AI
AI-generated draft reviewed and approved by architect — faster, more consistent
Solstice solutions architect reviews every configuration before carrier go-live
2026 - Live

Accelerate Litigation Without Trading Accuracy for Speed

AI streamlines data transformation and mapping during carrier onboarding — identifying field relationships, surfacing anomalies, and generating mapping proposals that reduce manual analysis time for complex legacy datasets.
Before
Labor-intensive manual mapping with high risk of inconsistency across large policy datasets
With AI
AI-proposed mappings with full lineage, reviewed by data stewards before any conversion runs
Carrier data stewards approve all mapping proposals; AI never commits conversions unilaterally
2026 - Live

Faster Issue Resolution With Real-Time Carrier Transparency

AI-enhanced trouble ticketing in Zendesk uses LLM-powered context assembly to rapidly locate relevant defect history, draft responses, and surface resolution pathways — reducing mean time to resolution.
Before
Manual defect search and context-gathering slowing response times on complex carrier tickets
With AI
AI-assembled context and drafted responses reviewed by support engineers before carrier delivery
Support engineers review every AI-drafted response before it reaches a carrier

Copilot Code Review & Standards Enforcement (Est. 2025)

GitHub Copilot integrated across the engineering team from 2025, followed by AI-assisted standards enforcement across every pull request. Engineers resolve all flagged items before merge — AI identifies, humans decide.

AI-Generated QA & Regression Testing (Est. 2025)

Regression testing infrastructure established in 2025 — AI generates test cases from code changes, surfaces edge conditions, and expands coverage. Human QE engineers review, refine, and merge. Higher coverage, faster cycles, fewer carrier surprises.

How

We Build At Solstice

These capabilities are internal to how Solstice builds and maintains Equinox™ — not features carriers buy, but the practices that directly affect the quality, velocity, and consistency of the platform you operate on.
Note: These practices reflect Solstice's internal SDLC. They're disclosed here because they affect what you receive: faster releases, higher code quality, fewer production defects, and a team that uses AI daily and therefore understands its operational realities.

How

Solstice Governs AI

Every AI capability at Solstice — from 2025 engineering tools to 2026 carrier-facing operations — is built around the same six principles of Trust, Safety and Governance.

Human Always in the Loop

No AI output reaches a carrier, a production system, or a regulated decision without human review and approval. AI drafts, recommends, and surfaces. Humans decide and commit.

Client Data Stays Client Data

Carrier data processed through Solstice systems is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model — internal or third-party. What goes in stays isolated.

Claims Match Capability

Every AI use case describes its capability in production use today. Roadmap items are clearly labeled. Future-state language is never used to describe current-state products.

Explainable Outputs Only

For any AI output informing a carrier decision, the reasoning pathway must be visible and auditable. Black box outputs that can't be reviewed are not deployed in carrier-facing workflows.

Consumer Portal

Solstice AI practices are designed in alignment with NAIC model bulletin guidance — including transparency, accountability, and non-discrimination requirements in AI-informed processes.

SOC 2 Environment

All AI processing occurs within Solstice's SOC 2-compliant infrastructure. Security controls, access management, and audit logging apply equally to AI-assisted and traditional workflows.
